According to the Guinness World Records, the first wristwatch was made in 1868 for Countess Koscowicz of Hungary, by Swiss watchmaker Patek Philippe. Initially intended as a piece of jewellery, the creation of wristwatch became a sought-after accessory for both ornamental and functional purposes.
